Aubrey Theobald (she/her b. 1996) is an interdisciplinary artist born in Cleveland, OH and currently practicing in Detroit, MI. Theobald received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Cincinnati DAAP with minors in Art History and Critical Visions (2018).
Theobald stands as a Co-Founder & contributing member of Hot Take Press ? a collaborative risograph press (Cincinnati, OH), with individual publications held through Printed Matter and the New York Public Library. Her residencies include Vermont Studio Center (2020), continued education at Ox-Bow School of Art & Artist Residency with Merit Scholarship, among nomination as a Fulbright Grant Semi-Finalist (Berlin, Germany, 2019).
Theobald?s work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally highlighting Anytime Dept. Gallery (Cincinnati, OH), The Carnegie (Covington, KY), Elephant Gallery (Nashville, TN), Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weissensee (Berlin, Germany) and Gallery 263 (Boston, MA). Recent exhibitions include In Regards to Nostalgia? a three person exhibition at Ruth Pearlman Gallery in Cincinnati, OH and Support Systems? a dual exhibition with Jesse Ly at Stone House Art Gallery (SHAG), in Charlotte, NC.
Aubrey is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts at Cranbrook Academy of Art, Department of Sculpture with the anticipated graduation date of May 2024.
