Both cloth tubes were woven in the round, using the a loom controlled “double-weave” technique.
Eleanor Anderson (She/her) born 1988, graduated from Colorado College in 2012 with a BA in studio art. From 2016 – 2018 she was a Core Fellow at Penland School of Crafts. She has taught at Penland School of Crafts, Jackson Hole Art Association, and the Cleveland Institute of Art. She has been an Artist in Residence at the Textile Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY, The Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, NY, The Tides Institute, Eastport ME, Praxis Fiber Studio, Cleveland OH and Studio Kura, Itoshima, Japan. Her work has been featured in American Craft Magazine and Paper Magazine and is in the collection of the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts and Carleton College. She was recently awarded the top ranked Outstanding Student Award from the Surface Design Association.
