I draw daily to escape reality – to help clear my mind from my surroundings. Drawing allows me to reflect on feeling of belonging and alienation in dominated white spaces. Drawing in my sketchbook is a therapeutic process that contributes to my visual language centered around hip-hop culture, my Black experience, the Black church, and Black symbolism.
