Kiwi Phong Nguyen (he/him) is a queer, second generation Vietnamese American artist, designer, and jeweler from San Diego, California. After graduating from the Cooper Union with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2015 he pursued his passion for sculpture, object making, and jewelry, shifting his path towards craft by working as a fabricator at various studios and manufacturing companies in New York. His practice constructs jewelry and garments as notation of intimate relationships between family, friends, and community. He seeks to generate moments of joy by creating wearable objects of protection and adornment, celebrating the complexities of life and love through playful imagery and performance.
