Feeling wanders through my meridians, trembling nerve endings and cerebral cortex, but blocked by the barrier of expression. Garment wraps the ontology, creating a private and hidden space, or a corner. The restricted expression confronts the expression itself, leaving the garment standing alone in its corner, like my shadow, like myself.

Born in a small city of China, Hankunyu “Vera” Wei started her metalsmithing life in Savannah College of Art and Design, then enrolled in Cranbrook Academy of Art.
She is obsessed with digging the dark side of ordinary life, purifying the moments that are taken for granted and exploring their essence in the way of abstraction. Believed that the collision between different materials can stimulate the vitality of the work and the imagination and inspiration of creation, she has maximized the plasticity of materials through repeated attempts.
