Brooke Herzing is a former Seattle-based Artist. She earned her BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2015. She is currently pursuing her MFA in Ceramics at Cranbrook Academy of Art. Brooke attempts to analyze and contextualize the shared human experience by exploring the complicated, emotionally laden, and sometimes contradictory landscape of the self. Her work focuses on the disruption of order while investigating themes of identity politics such as domesticity, gender, sexuality, and mental health. Her concepts are presented through paintings, ceramics, and sculptures that transform into abstract objects, anthropomorphic figures, and installations.
