    William Lanzillo is an emerging interdisciplinary artist and educator. His work is situated between sculpture, performance, drawing and printmaking. His interests span both large scale public sculpture and creating collaborative and interactive experiences through performance and participatory work. Lanzillo was born in Chicago. He graduated with distinction from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota in 2019. He majored in Studio Art and Psychology. At Carleton he was a distinguished recipient of both the Ursula Hemingway Jepson Memorial Award (2018) and the David C. Donelson ’77 (2018). He presented original research at Both the Minnesota Undergraduate Psychology Conference (2019) and at the National Council for Black Studies (2019). Since graduating, he has had numerous experiences as an arts educator in k-12 schools in Minnesota. He was an artist in Residence at Franconia Sculpture Park in Shafer Minnesota (2020), and at Buffalo Creek Art Center in Gardnerville, Nevada (2021), where his work is now a part of the permanent collection. His work has been shown at numerous locations in the Minneapolis area including Highpoint Center for Printmaking (2020) and Form and Content Gallery (2020). Lanzillo is currently pursuing an MFA in Sculpture at Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
