Olivia Guterson (b. 1990, Gallup, NM) is a Detroit-based multidisciplinary artist, cultural worker, and mother working primarily in painting to explore personal and collective narratives with a curiosity around adaptation, migration, liberation, and cultural hybridization.
Currently pursuing her MFA in Painting at Cranbrook Academy of Art, she is a resident artist at McArthur Binion’s Modern Ancient Brown; an alum of Sibyls Shrine residency; a recipient of Playground Detroit’s 2022 Emerging Artist Fellowship; a recipient of the Gilbert Fellowship and a founding member of ArtMamas Alliance. She was the featured visual artist for Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Juneteenth Proclamation in 2022. Her work has been shown at the Arab American National Museum, Louis Buhl Gallery, Prizm – Art Basel, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Jewish Artist Salon, Scarab Club, Janice Charach Gallery, and more.
