Emmy Bright works with drawing, writing, print and performance. She explores the problems of empathy, the problem of boundaries and the feelings caught up in all of those things. In all of her projects, she works upend normative good sense in order to find something more complex, gnarly and real. She has exhibited nationally and internationally and most recently held a solo exhibition “Alone Together (views from the bottom of the pool.)” at David Klein Gallery in Birmingham, MI. Bright is an Artist in Residence and a Co-Head of the Print Media Department at Cranbrook Academy of Art. She lives in Detroit and her work is represented by David Klein Gallery.
