“My work redacts information and human presence to feature absence. Watercolor is my language; within my guidelines it flows, pools, and blooms in unexpected ways. The subjects of my work are often objects close to my body, my personal history, and my perception. They then become a symbol to serve as a forum for the overwhelming anxiety of what it means to hold the weight of living.”

Clara Nulty is an artist based out of Colorado. She will complete her MFA in Painting at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in May 2021. Nulty also holds a BA in Studio Arts from Carleton College in Northfield, MN, where she graduated magna cum laude with distinction in her major. She has shown at galleries across the states including Colorado, New York, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Michigan. Her work is currently available for viewing at Ortega y Gasset Projects in Brooklyn, NY and the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Smith House in Bloomfield Hills, MI.
